Konami made an extensive audio sample of the soundtrack of the “Silent Hill 2” remake available on YouTube. In addition to numerous pieces from the original, the soundtrack includes newly recorded songs and various new additions.
At the end of the week, buyers of the Deluxe Edition will have access to the remake of the survival horror classic “Silent Hill 2”. In line with the approaching release, Konami is of course increasing its marketing measures.
For example, the publisher made an extensive audio sample of the soundtrack of the “Silent Hill 2” remake available on YouTube. We can look forward to more than 90 minutes of musical impressions from the horror reissue. Just like the original from 2001, composer Akira Yamaoka is responsible for the soundtrack for the remake.
In Japan, players and interested parties have the opportunity to purchase the remake's soundtrack in the form of a three-CD box. The soundtrack will be released in Japan on November 20, 2024.
Familiar sounds and new pieces
According to the official description, fans of the original “Silent Hill 2” can look forward to numerous familiar pieces in the remake’s soundtrack that already created an eerie atmosphere in 2001.
Akira Yamaoka also took on selected songs from the soundtrack at the time in order to revise or re-record them. For example, Laura's revised theme in the new soundtrack is called “Theme of Laura 2”.
The soundtrack of the remake is rounded off by new pieces that are atmospherically based on the rest of the soundtrack.
Reviews will probably appear shortly
Players can sweeten the waiting time until the release of the “Silent Hill 2” remake a little, and not just with the detailed audio sample from the soundtrack.
