Ryan Reynolds Accepts First Deadpool Adventure as a Valuable Experience

The first standalone Deadpool film only hit the big screen in 2016, but the self-proclaimed Marvel Jesus celebrated his big screen debut several years earlier in X‑Men Origins: Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds was anything but enthusiastic about his Deadpool debut.

Ryan Reynolds calls X‑Men Origins: Wolverine absolute garbage

Although production of the Deadpool film was in jeopardy several times, the final product emerged as a breakthrough success in 2016. The satirical action film captivated the masses – not least because of Ryan Reynolds, who visibly felt comfortable in the role of the brutal and sarcastic anti-hero.

But a few years ago things looked completely different. Because of his first appearance as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine Reynolds apparently remembers it reluctantly. In an interview with Variety about Deadpool 3, he describes the film as absolute garbage:

“Everyone expects me to eviscerate Hugh Jackman, but I will say that he was one of the first movie stars I ever worked with, back in 2007 on 'X-Men Origins Wolverine,' which was absolute garbage – That was on his account.”

X-Men Origins: Wolverine also went down anything but well with the fans. Would you like a little reminder? Just look at the trailer again:

When is Deadpool 3 coming?
