Hot Wheels: Rift Rally is an upcoming mixed reality game for iPhone that transforms physical spaces into digital race tracks for remote-controlled cars.
The game features physical “gates” or arches (Rift Gates) that gamers place on the floor in their home to build a track. They then control the Chameleon RC car using an iPhone or PlayStation controller. The companion app overlays digital elements on the environment on the screen as the vehicle moves.
The machine can be digitally converted into over 140 configurations, including iconic models such as the Twin Mill, Bone Shaker, Gotta Go and Mach Speeder.
In Campaign Mode, players set up Rift Gates arches to create a mixed reality track and compete on a variety of maps where they have to complete a variety of challenges and races. Then, in Stunt Mode, players drive the Chameleon car and perform stunts without gates, making chains of drifts, tight turns and fuel bursts to score high points and earn rewards.
