Rift Rally Brings Mixed Reality Racing to iPhone

Hot Wheels: Rift Rally

Hot Wheels: Rift Rally is an upcoming mixed reality game for iPhone that turns physical spaces into digital race tracks for a remote-controlled car.

The game features physical “gates” or arches that players place on the floor in their home to build a race track. They then race the Chameleon RC car using an iPhone or PlayStation controller. The companion app overlays digital elements on the environment on the screen as the car moves.

The Chameleon RC car can be transformed into over 140 configurations, including iconic models such as the Twin Mill, Bone Shaker, Gotta Go and Mach Speeder.

In Campaign Mode, players customize Rift Gates to create a mixed reality track and explore different maps with multiple challenges and races. Then, in Stunt Mode, players control the Gateless Chameleon and perform tricks by chaining skids, wheelies, and burnouts to score points and earn rewards.

“Velan Studios’ innovative game design and technology delivers a revolutionary gaming experience for Hot Wheels fans, turning their home into the perfect Hot Wheels track for their digital car collection,” said Mike DeLaet, Global Head of Digital Games at Mattel.
