The State of Play in April 2021 was mainly focused on one game: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. With 15 minutes of gameplay, Sony and Insomniac Games have shown how much good they are doing with this exclusive. From that video, here are a handful of 4K images that we believe are able to crystallize the technical goodness of the game.

Technically yesterday evening the free upgrade for PS5 and PS4 of Subnautica: Below Zero and the PlayStation 4 and PS5 version of Among Us were also announced, but it was clearly the adventure of Ratchet & Clank that attracted all the attention.

This is because to gameplay that already appears solid and fun and to an excellent characterization of the characters, Insomniac has combined a technical sector that is finally next-gen. The graphics of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart already appear fluid and super detailed, with virtually zero loading times between levels. Even standing still it is beautiful, as you can see from these images:
