Anyone who buys new games in the PlayStation Store can possibly look forward to a small reward.

The first PS5 players report a cashback system in the PS Store. Reddit user JannJans discovered the reward on The Blood of Dawnwalker product page. There, 10 dollars will be credited to the PSN account after the purchase. However, the bonus is only valid for a short time.

This is how the new reward system works on the PS5

The comments on Reddit show that the new reward system is currently only available to very few PS5 owners. But it also appears in other games, including Star Wars Zero Company, Resonance: A Plague Tale and Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush.

Anyone who purchases a participating game will automatically receive a portion of the purchase price refunded. The credit ends up immediately in your PSN account and can be used there for any further purchases

Why are some PS5 players getting their money back?

Sony has not officially announced a new loyalty program for PS5 players. However, the console manufacturer is always experimenting with the PS Store. For example, Sony has been using “dynamic pricing” for a few months now. So not all players receive the same discounts. A cashback system for certain players could go in a similar direction.

Additionally, the PS Store continues to gain importance with the end of physical PS5 games. Sony may want to make the very controversial decision a little more pleasant with a new bonus program.

If PS5 players wanted to buy a new game in the PS Store anyway, the free credit is a welcome surprise. However, Sony is not acting out of pure charity, but also wants to persuade undecided gamers to buy. In addition, you can only use the credit you win to buy more games in the PlayStation Store.
