From November 7th, Sony will deliver the first consoles of the new series to customers: But how, when and where can the PS5 Pro be pre-ordered?
In Germany and Austria, pre-orders will start on Thursday next week (September 26th) – initially only on PlayStation Direct. Sony retail partners will only start selling the game after a two-week delay.
Message from September 12, 2024: The list price is a big number: €799.99 is what you have to pay for the PlayStation 5 Pro – the new flagship console that Sony Interactive will soon be launching. For the premium price, you get premium performance, namely a razor-sharp image with lots of extra details and a stable refresh rate.
Where gamers and studios often had to make compromises between performance and image quality, the PS5 Pro is designed to deliver the best quality available on the market. This also applies to many popular PlayStation 5 blockbusters, which are equipped with free updates.
Delivery of the PS5 Pro will start on Thursday, November 7, 2024 – just in time for the Christmas season and for the release of new products such as Assassin's Creed Shadows (12.11.) or Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (25.10.).
From this point on, the Sony console will also be sold by relevant mail order companies, specialist retailers and electronics stores.
Pre-orders will be available from September 26, 2024, but initially only at the PlayStation Direct factory outlet – similar to the PlayStation VR2. Only in countries where PlayStation Direct is not yet active (such as Switzerland) will the regional retail trade be involved from the outset.
Only from October 10, 2024 (also a Thursday) will other Sony trading partners also start pre-sales nationwide, as on the official PlayStation blog If this plan remains in place, the PS5 Pro will be available from October 10th at Amazon*, MediaMarkt, Saturn, Otto* and other providers (subject to change).
By the way: If you can already see that you want to continue using existing games and film Blu-Rays with your PlayStation 5 Pro, then you should get the official PS5 Slim drive early. The reason: The PS5 Pro is a purely 'digital console' – so if you want to use data storage devices, you need the appropriate disc drive (RRP €120), as offered for the PS5 Slim Digital Edition. The drive is already sold out at PlayStation Direct and some retailers.
