The recently announced project is the film adaptation of Rowling's fantasy children's book Jack's miraculous journey with the Christmas pigwhich was released in 2021. Inspired by her son's toy pigs, this book takes us into a magical world in which Jack, the protagonist, goes in search of his missing cuddly toy Swein. But this search takes him far beyond the usual, to the land of the lost, where he has to face numerous dangers and ultimately make a decision of enormous consequence – all in the name of his friendship with Swein.

News of the film adaptation has set the rumor mill abuzz, with speculation rife that HBO and BBC could be partnering on the project. This assumption is based on Rowling's existing collaboration with the two production giants for the adaptation of her detective book series “Cormoran Strike” by her own production company Bronte. The fact that HBO is also working on the Harry Potter series further supports this assumption.
