On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon trading card game, a special expansion is being released that will make the hearts of collectors and nostalgics beat faster.

Pokémon 30th anniversary sets on Amazon

The “30 Years” collection is now available to pre-order on Amazon via an exclusive invitation system. Those interested can apply for the top trainer box Register price of 52.99 euros (view on Amazon) to get a purchase opportunity at the official launch on September 16, 2026.

The Top Trainer Box is the centerpiece of the celebrations. It contains nine booster packs from the anniversary expansion, a special holographic promo card from Nidorina and 65 exclusive card sleeves. You will also find additional accessories such as basic energy cards and game instructions so you can get started straight away. Each booster pack promises a high yield of shiny cards – it contains five holographic copies.

The highlight for collectors is likely to be the new rarity level “rare, illustration”, which distinguishes cards with unique, full-surface artwork. Designs and motifs from the entire 30-year history of the trading card game also return. The 30 different Pikachu illustration cards are particularly popular, one of which is included in each booster pack. This diversity makes the hunt for all versions particularly exciting.

More sets for the 30th anniversary

Amazon’s invitation system is a direct response to the huge demand seen for previous anniversary sets. The “Celebrations” 25th anniversary expansion was sold out within a very short time and was then offered on secondary markets at greatly inflated prices. By requiring real fans to request an invitation, the retailer is trying to put a stop to automated bots and resellers and ensure fairer distribution.
