PlayStation Plus: Includes blockbusters and bonuses – the essential games in May

Sony announced the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup in May. A well-known blockbuster awaits you and as a bonus there is another add-on in addition to the three regular full versions.

May has arrived and with it there is a new range of games available from PlayStation Plus Essential, which all subscribers to Sony's online service can once again take advantage of. Sony is not only putting together the usual three-pack of full versions for the wonderful month, but also an add-on as a bonus – but one after the other.

From May 7, 2024 in the new week you can secure the new free games, which include a real top title. The headliner of the new line-up is the long-running football hit EA Sports FC 24 from Electronic Arts, which you can get for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in the Standard Edition. And you know: If you use an essential game on PS Plus once, you can keep it permanently – in contrast to the offer in the PS Plus Extra and Premium game subscriptions.

Anyone who can't really do much with the round leather despite the approaching European Football Championships in Germany will also be provided with other attractive gaming fodder. You can also play the post-apocalyptic cyberpunk sequel on the PlayStation 5 Ghost Runner 2 gaming that offers you an immersive and action-packed experience from the first-person perspective. A lot has changed compared to the first part, so you can expect non-linear levels, combat improvements, complex motorcycle sequences and more.

Full version #3 is Tunics for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In this well-known indie title you can explore a hostile world full of shadowy forests, ruins and catacombs. In the isometric adventure you have to find hidden treasures and fight colossal beasts.

Normally this would be the end of the new line-up, but this time there is a bonus for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 alike. The add-on Destiny 2: Lightfall for Bungie's sci-fi epic is also part of the offer; The prerequisite for this is that you own the main game Destiny 2, but this can be downloaded for free from the PlayStation Store.

And: In line with the EA Sports FC 24 offer, there will also be an Ultimate Team Starter Pack as a bonus for PS Plus subscribers in May, which includes 11 non-tradeable players with a rating of 82 or higher as well as an icon as a loan player for offers seven games.

You can still secure the games from the PS Plus Essential line-up in April until May 6th.
