With the help of “Remote Play” you can play your games library from the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 on your smartphone or tablet even without a large television. GIGA explains how you set up the function on the console and what you need on your smartphone.
The feature mirrors content from the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 to your Android smartphone or iPhone. This means you can continue your game statuses while you're on the go or show friends what gems you have in your game library for Sony's consoles. To do this, you have to set up “Remote Play” in advance on your cell phone and PlayStation 4 or PS5. “Remote Play” can also be used without a paid “PlayStation Plus” subscription.

Play PS4 and PS5 games on your Android phone – here's how
First, you should set up the remote play feature on your console. The function is available on both the PlayStation 4 and PS5. The way to set up is very similar on both consoles:

With various holders you can quickly and easily clamp your cell phone to the gamepad. You can also play without a Dualshock controller. However, some games do not have their own smartphone controls. In addition, the operation is quite complicated, especially on small cell phone screens, which is why you can be on the safe side with the gamepad.
Remote Play on your cell phone: How is the data consumption?
Unlike before, the playback device and the console have to be different are no longer on the same WLANto use “Remote Play”. PS4 and PS5 games on PC and Mac with Remote Play
In order for this to work on the PC and Mac, both the computer and the PlayStation must be connected to the Internet. Unlike before, the stream is no longer limited to a single WLAN. Both systems can therefore run on two different networks. This means you can access your games library on Sony's console from your computer even when visiting family on Sundays or during your lunch break in the office. However, you must first set up the function on both the console and the PC:

First you need the appropriate program for Windows or Mac. Install the tool on the respective platform. Now start the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 and make sure that the latest firmware update is installed. The function is only available for the “primary” PlayStation. So open the settings of the Sony console and call up the “Account Management” to select the option “Activate as your primary PlayStation“. Go to the settings and select ““Remote Play Connection Settings”. Tick the box “Enable Remote Play”.Now you can add a new device.Once selected, a code will be displayed on the television.Start the application installed under 1. on the PC or Mac and enter the code here.You can use the PS4 controller with the USB port Connect the PC and enjoy the console feeling on the monitor. Log in to the “Remote Play” application with your PSN account. The PlayStation will now establish the connection to the computer.
You can also start the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 remotely via the PC. To do this, you need to make the appropriate setting for sleep mode:

Please note that “Remote Play” only plays content in the stream. So if you don't have games in the digital version, the respective disc must be inserted into the console. PlayStation VR games and games that require the “PlayStation Camera” cannot be used.
