One of the most anticipated titles of our time is without a doubt Rockstar Games' open-world blockbuster “GTA 6”. An update on the studio's official website is currently fueling speculation about an impending announcement.
At the end of 2023, Rockstar Games finally agreed with the waiting community and presented the official reveal trailer ready for “GTA 6”. This quickly developed into one of the… most successful gaming trailer at all.

After the topic of “GTA 6” recently became a little quieter, an update to the official Rockstar Games website is causing fresh speculation. The studio provided its website with an update that was discovered relatively quickly by the community. Rockstar reacted immediately and took the section in question offline again.
The update in question included four screenshots, the cover art and a possible release date and was apparently activated a little too early. “Rockstar was probably preparing the website and had no intention of publishing the site yet. So they had to hide them again for the time being,” one user notedwho discovered the update in the website's source code.
What is Rockstar Games planning?
The community is hoping that the update to the official Rockstar Games website could indicate an upcoming announcement or at least an information update about “GTA 6”. At least the timing would fit. Finally, Take-Two Interactive is hosting next Thursday, May 16, 2024 a conference for investors.
There is speculation that the parent company of Rockstar Games wants to make positive headlines in the run-up to the conference with a possible announcement about “GTA 6”. But what does this mean for the community? Let's stay realistic: Despite the placeholder, we shouldn't expect the release date of “GTA 6” to be revealed.

However, it is conceivable that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive will slowly start the PR machine for “GTA 6” and, for example, provide us with new screenshots and information about “GTA 6”. With any luck, we'll find out more shortly.
Developers strive for perfection
As part of the business figures in February 2024, Take-Two Interactive formulated ambitious goals for “GTA 6”. CEO Strauss Zelnick drew a comparison with “GTA 5”, which has now sold more than 195 million times.
Zelnick: “On the other hand, you know: the 195 million units sold by GTA 5 are by no means to be despised. We make no predictions about how the title will perform. But the anticipation is obviously very, very great.”
As his statement continued, Zelnick pointed out that Rockstar Games was working on “GTA 6” strives for perfection. However, this does not mean that the studio is given endless time to optimize the title.
“There may be an inherent tension between getting to market and creating perfection,” the Take-Two Interactive CEO continued. “But we are on the side of perfection.”
“GTA 6” will initially be released in 2025 for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC will somewhat later provided.
