Pixel 9A launched – cheaper and with longer battery life

For most mobile manufacturers, performance is the clearest difference between their intermediate -price models and top models. Google, on the other hand, allows its habit of faithful Pixel 9A to get the same Tensor G4 chipset as the top models Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.

For Google, the pixel mobiles are a platform for showing their services, especially in artificial intelligence, and therefore it is important for them that Pixel 9A has the same performance as their big siblings.

The price of Pixel 9A is SEK 6590 for the design with 8/128 GB (it is also available with 256 GB for SEK 7790), which is more than 4000 less than what you take for Pixel 9 with 128 GB of storage, and this is noticeable on the look. The design feels simpler, the frame is admittedly in recycled aluminum, but the back is in 80 percent recycled plastic. The fact that the camera island is less protruding is partly due to the fact that the entire phone is thicker than Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. It may be mentioned that the phone is waterproof according to IP68.

In return, the thickness has also been used for a larger battery, 5100 mAh against 4700 in Pixel 9 and 4500 in Pixel 8A. Pixel 9A can thus become Google's mobile with the best battery life.

Pixel 9A has got a screen of 6.3 inches, larger than on Pixel 8A and as large as on Pixel 9. However, the screen has thicker black frames around, which makes the whole phone a little larger. Like Pixel 9, the screen has received 120 Hz update frequency and a maximum brightness of 2700 mAh. However, the screen glass of the older type Gorilla Glass 3 and thus a little less durable than that in other Pixel 9 models.

When it comes to the cameras, we have a new main sensor of 48 megapixel and a wide -angle camera of 13 megapixel that has now received autofocus for macro photography. The camera can thus be expected to be an improvement to Pixel 8A at the same time as we can expect it to be not as good as in Pixel 9. According to Google, the camera should be the best in the phone's price range.

Google Pixel 9A has the same AI functions for language and image management as Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, and just as for them, a lot of the features in Sweden are missing. One difference is that there are no free months with Gemini Advanced with Pixel 9A, but those who choose to pay will of course have access to the features that come with Gemini Advanced.

A new AI feature that comes to Pixel 9A, and probably more mobiles soon, is video and screen division. That feature lets Gemini see and discuss things it sees on the screen. For example, it can interpret program code, or say what colors match. The feature has previously been demonstrated under the name Project Astra, and you can see it in action In this video.

Just like the Pixel Other 9 family, Google promises seven years system and security updates to Pixel 9A. The phone will be in stores in early April in the colors black, white, pink and purple, and can be pre -ordered soon.
