Police officers from Piotrków Trybunalski (Łódź Voivodeship) detained a McLaren driver who exceeded the speed by 89 kilometers per hour on the renovated section of the A1 motorway, where the speed limit is 70 kilometers per hour. The 29-year-old was fined and 15 penalty points were scored on his account.
The incident took place on Thursday (September 22) on the A1 motorway near Piotrków Trybunalski. – After 8 p.m. policemen from the Piotrków highway detained a McLaren driver for inspection, who on the A1 motorway, at the height of Gąski, exceeded the speed limit by 89 kilometers per hour – reports St. Asp. Izabela Gajewska from the police in Piotrków Trybunalski. He adds: – In a place with a speed limit of 70 km / h, the man had 159 km / h on the clock. For the offense, the 29-year-old received a fine of PLN 2.5 thousand and 15 penalty points.
“He did not notice the signs, he thought that if you like the highway you can go fast”
The 29-year-old accepted the ticket and told the police that he had not noticed the speed limit signs. – The driver explained to the officers that when he did not notice the signs, he thought that when it is like a motorway, you can go fast – says Gajewska.
