“Is the game of Yu-Gi-Oh really that serious?”

“I read it in a manga once upon a time, but I don't know it now.”

I'm sure there are many people who feel that way, but please bear with me for just 30 seconds.

Yu-Gi-Oh is a card game that many people probably played when they were children. Something amazing is happening now. In this tournament, they will attempt to break two Guinness World Records.

The first one isMost entrants in a trading card game tournament. This can be said to be more of an “application” than a challenge. There is no provisional number one, but it is a challenge to see if it will be officially recognized as a record.

Will the record be certified successfully? Goombas also rushed to support the audience as tensions rose. At worst, if you let him “proliferate”, there will be no problem.

Eventually, the opening declaration was made and the tournament started. At the end of the first qualifying round, a certification judge will be held by an official Guinness World Records certifier.

We are currently counting the number of participants. Goomba is also looking worried.

The interesting tally is 7,443 people! I successfully achieved the Guinness World Record.

(I'm glad it didn't turn into a mine)

Participants were given token cards to commemorate their Guinness World Record achievement. It will remain as a memory for a lifetime.

The second Guinness challenge record isLargest trading card game tournament. This was also held over two days from April 28th to 29th, and 7,443 people were certified as the Guinness World Record for the number of participants in the same tournament during the tournament period.

◆Things you can see but can't see

Well, I'm happy to have achieved the Guinness record, but what I really want to tell you is this.

The main characters of this event are the participants, and it goes without saying that the reason we were able to achieve the Guinness World Record was because of the participants' passion for Yu-Gi-Oh!

Their expressions during the match were very serious. It was a tough qualifying round where players were eliminated after two losses, but perhaps because the participants were getting older, the competition was held in a relaxed atmosphere at every table.

Just look at their expressions and you can tell just how amazing this event was.

Participants were having fun shopping at the merchandise booths.

There were no problems with the rules or a brutal atmosphere during the matches. At the tournament, there are “Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game Instructors,'' who are available only to those who have passed an officially recognized certification test, who will act as referees and provide progress support.

It is probably because of their efforts that the tournament went on without any trouble.

“This venue is going to turn into a battlefield today! The media had better stay out of the way!” (He doesn't say that)

I myself used to play card games competitively. Once again, I felt the excitement in the venue and thought that I wanted to return to the competitive scene after a long time, and that I would like to participate in the next YCSJ as a duelist rather than as a reporter.

[The following is quoted from the press release]

Congratulations to all the duelists for being recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records.

I believe that this record was only possible due to the cooperation and strength of bonds between each and every duelist. As a result, I think the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game will deepen the unity and bond between duelists, and an even more amazing world awaits.

I believe that your passion will continue to be passed on to us for many years to come, and will become a road to all of us duelists.

Dear duelists, please continue to keep your pride in your heart and keep pushing forward!
