ChatGPT search engine version

OpenAI declined comment to the media; the information is therefore not yet fully confirmed regarding this date. But the sources are consistent with other, older information. Already last February, The Information found that OpenAI is working on a search engine based on ChatGPT. Then we learned that a jobs war was taking place behind the scenes, OpenAI looking to recruit engineers from Google for his own project.

The search engine developed by OpenAI would be designed as a feature of ChatGPT. It would thus allow you to do searches on the web; the chatbot would thus answer Internet users' questions by directly citing its sources found on the Internet. In short, it would be a bit of a greatly improved version of the integration into Microsoft Bing.

If the project seems entirely credible, in logical continuity with the company's ambitions (also to find users), it remains to be seen whether OpenAI will really make this announcement just before Google I/O next Tuesday. The web giant itself has not said its last word on AI: a new function in its Google Chrome browser includes the possibility of asking questions to Gemini, its chatbot (which sometimes goes live).
