» Watch video: Hitman Absolution: Attack of the Saints Trailer
90 percent discount on Steam – stealth fans should grab this.
Steam once again has a real classic on offer at a ridiculous price. You can play the acclaimed stealth game Hitman: Absolution until March 12, 2026 Get it for an unbeatable 1.99 euros. This corresponds to a massive discount of 90 percent on the normal price of 19.99 euros. You take on the role of the legendary Agent 47, who is betrayed by his own agency and is now hunted by the police while uncovering a sinister conspiracy (watch on Steam).
This is what we like about Hitman Absolution:
- + Playful freedom: Each mission is a small puzzle in which you have to find the perfect path to the goal through observation and experimentation.
- + Varied missions and levels: From bustling Chinatown to dusty motels, the game offers a variety of different and detailed locations.
We like this less:
- – Controversial cladding system: Unlike other parts of the series, enemies with the same disguise can immediately reveal you, which often leads to frustration.
- – Partly linear levels: Some sections of the game are designed to be much more tubular than in the newer parts and somewhat restrict the absolute sandbox freedom.
Hitman: Absolution is still an outstanding game today that is characterized by its enormous freedom of play. Every mission is one little sandbox full of possibilitiesin which you decide for yourself how you eliminate your target – whether loudly, quietly, cleverly or brutally.
The thrilling story of Hitman: Absolution follows Agent 47 as he defies his agency to protect a young girl from shadowy actors. As a result, he goes from hunter to hunted and has to uncover a conspiracy to stay alive.
Gregor Elsholz (own opinion):
Hitman: Absolution is still worth watching 14 years after its release
Compared to the spectacular successor trilogy, Hitman World of Assassination, Absolution offers less freedom. The levels are more straightforward and narratively tighter, and the replay value seems more limited, at least on the first run.
Nevertheless, there are different ways to get rid of your opponents in the different levels. Due to the smaller number, Absolution simply seems a little less overwhelming. Instead of huge sandboxes, detailed and cleverly designed missions await you, presenting you with completely different problems and scenarios.
Even though the game is somewhat of a black sheep for many Hitman fans today, for me it offers a lot of entertainment and, even after 14 years, is a game that I would like to return to. For 1.99 euros it is a must buy.
