Combines a lot of function with a lot of battery life
The basic concept introduced OnePlus already a year ago and now further improvements have been made.

I am surprised that no more clock manufacturers followed OnePlus's example. Here is the strength of Wear OS with Google's apps, the ability to use Spotify and saving music in offline mode in the clock, here is voice control and Google Assistant (not Gemini yet) but at the same time significantly better battery life than other Wear Olympic watches from, for example, Google itself or Samsung. Compared to OnePlus Watch 2, which came a year ago, the news is quite few.
OnePlus is alone in offering the combination Wear OS and good battery life thanks to double processors and operating systems, a powerful and a battery -efficient that takes over when allowed.

Compared to OnePlus Watch 2, which came a year ago, the news is quite few. Watch 3 has the same Snapdragon chip for the more demanding features, but a new, updated and battery-efficient chip for the simpler tasks. The battery also has a slightly higher capacity, but it does not produce major changes in battery life, but we get about four days. However, we get some new and improved features. In terms of exactly what can be done, for example, many of Garmin's watches have similar properties, so OnePlus Watch is not a lonely gentleman on the plot. Also Garmin has Spotify, exercise measurement and even better battery life than OnePlus can boast, but lacks some other Wear OS offers.
The best of two worlds

OnePlus Watch 3 is undoubtedly a clock that combines advanced features with good battery life. In addition to the impressive combination that made us like OnePlus Watch 2 so much, OnePlus has now also added a number of other qualities. One such is the ability to conduct a thorough health check in just 60 seconds. This overall measurement and the opportunity to take ECG will come to the clock first in the form of a later software update during the first quarter of this year, so it is not directly if you buy the clock now. However, my test copy has received this feature in advance so I have been able to test even before launch. The health checks include measurement of pulse, ECG, blood acid levels, mental health, wrist temperature, stiffness and sleep quality blood vessels. The latter, of course, requires that you have had the clock overnight. A lot of these values can also be measured separately. Blood acid content and heart rate, for example, the clock can keep track of ongoing, but I think the function with a total health check is still useful because it gives me an opportunity to get everything measured at one and the same time. It all goes so that I have to hold a finger against the lower button and then sit so, still with my arm resting against a table for a minute. When it is done, I get a report that can also be passed on in the form of a PDF file. At all times, the clock is unable to measure all values. It may happen that it complains that I have not sat still enough, or even otherwise it has not succeeded in measuring any of the values. Usually it works, but sometimes I have to make another try.
Better and more comfortable while sleeping

As mentioned, we were very positive about the previous watches from OnePlus, both OnePlus Watch 2 and the cheaper OnePlus Watch 2R. OnePlus itself is happy to emphasize that this OnePlus Watch 3 has improved health measurement, partly because of new improved sensors and that the clock's bracelet has received new design so that it closes denser around the wrist. In addition to improving the sensors' ability to read your heart rate and not being disturbed by incident light, it also makes the clock feel more comfortable. I notice it especially when I sleep, because the clock is not at all as disturbing as other clocks can be. It is hardly noticed and I quickly get used to not even noticing it when I fall asleep.
The rotating crown, the larger, upper button on the clock is both a push button to make choices and a rotating crown that you can spin to browse lists or among apps in the screen. The same concept as in Apple Watch and it works well.
Good precision in measurement values
I have been testing the clock for almost two weeks and during that time, of course, measured sleep and had a few miles of running training and about ten other workouts. Throughout the test period, the clock has provided relevant and credible measurement results. I mentioned Apple Watch and the times I had on comparison OnePlus Watch 3 and Apple Watch 10 on each arm during a run they have often signaled the mileage at the second at the same time. Now, Apple Watch is not a practical competitor to OnePlus Watch 3 because one only works with iPhone and OnePlus Watch only with Android mobiles, but just in health, its sensors hold the same class. Which is high class. Earlier in challenging situations with skyscrapers where GPS has a hard time finding position, Apple Watch has beaten the Wear Olympic clock Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra with a message.

Now I have tested OnePlus Watch 3 in Stockholm with few really high skyscrapers, but in a comparative test where I walked four laps around the Hötorg scratches at Sergels Torg in Stockholm, both clocks generally gave good accuracy, but with error positioning in the beginning. It often happens with OnePlus Watch 3, partly that it needs a minute before it signals that it has found its position and even then positioning the first 50 meters of the workout can be wrong. However, I think OnePlus Watch 3 is especially good at discovering a workout, so it asks when I go, if I want to register the workout it noticed that I started. The clock is also alert to pause a workout when I need to stop at, for example, a pedestrian crossing.

OnePlus Watch 3 thus has many features, thanks in large part to Wear OS, and they combine it with superior battery life compared to other Wear Olympic watches. Watches from, for example, Garmin still have even better battery life and can offer Spotify, but the other Wear Olympic features, as a voice assistant for example, you will miss at Garmin. However, all the features of OnePlus Watch 3 do not feel fully thought out or longed for. One of the news is the ability to browse a short -form video clip on mobile, but do it from the clock. I try it.

It is based on the fact that I put my mobile a bit away from me and lean on something, starts Tiktok or Youtube shorts, and then switches video by swiping on the clock screen instead of on the mobile phone. It feels like a meaningless feature, as it is much easier to actually hold the phone in your hand when looking at it. Fortunately, the rest of the features in OnePlus Watch 3 are both better and more well thought out and it probably makes it the best smart watch. OnePlus Watch 2R is also a very strong alternative thanks to its lower price and similar function, if you want to save some money.
