One of the best user scores in the PS5 generation

Published last week “Stellar Blade” is extremely well received by the players. After the reviews from specialist editors led to a Metascore of 82, which is a good, if not outstanding, value, players seem to be even more impressed by the Eve adventure.

It's receiving top ratings on Metacritic, making “Stellar Blade” one of the most respected games of the PS5 era.

In the league of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Co

With a user score of currently 9.0, “Stellar Blade” remains in the top 10 of the best-rated games on Metacritic. Other games in the top positions have names like “Baldur's Gate 3”, “Marvel's Spider-Man 2” and “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”.

However, there is a lot of movement in the user score, so that “Stellar Blades” was even in third place over the course of the day with a user score of 9.1 Forbes reported. The publication compiled the following rankings:

It is also clear in the PlayStation Store that most players are impressed with “Stellar Blade”. Based on around 22,000 ratings, a score of 4.79 was achieved. A maximum of five stars is possible.

The user score of “Stellar Blade” will probably only reach a reliable final value in the coming days. Since its launch, the title from Shift Up and Sony Interactive Entertainment has been the subject of a sometimes escalating controversy.

With the Day One update, Shift Up made minor design adjustments to two costumes, among other changes and additions. They cover a larger part of the breast, while other costumes were left untouched in this regard and provide a wide view of Eve's bust.

Even if Shift Up referred to this in an initial statementMany social media users see the fact that the new versions are the final planned costume editions as censorship. The title should also be punished accordingly with low user ratings.

Seven percent of the user ratings for “Stellar Blade” on Metacritic are negative. And many of the zero-point scores are justified by suspected censorship.

A user named Xboxking says: “The game is censored. You have to stop false advertising. Many games show a lot of nudity and they don't get bad reviews and get censored. I’ve already sold my game.”

Another: “I will change my rating after the censorship is removed. I’m tired of false advertising and overpromising.”

Another user even sees illegal behavior: “People buy your product and praise it highly. And then you take part of the product away from them – that’s illegal.”

However, 89 percent of user ratings are positive, so the vast majority appear satisfied.

The censorship debate is unlikely to harm its success, but rather help “Stellar Blade” gain more attention. An official sales figure is not yet available. According to some rather shaky speculation, the title could have broken through the million mark within 24 hours.
