When does Mufasa come to the cinema?
Mufasa is coming to Germany December 19, 2024 to the cinema. Accordingly, some trailers for the film have already been released online. However, Deadline emphasizes that the major marketing campaign for the prequel project will not begin until early December.
Therefore, the forecasts regarding box office receipts should be treated with a lot of caution. In the United States, Disney plans to release the film in cinemas on December 20th. The problem: December 20th will not only serve as the starting signal for the Disney film in US cinemas.
Paramount has the third Sonic film finally also for exactly this date in mind. However, there will not be this direct competition in this country. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will, at least according to information, celebrate its cinematic debut in Germany on December 25, 2024.
Mufasa already a cinema flop?
According to recent projections, Mufasa is expected to gross around $50 million in its first weekend in the United States. For Sonic 3, however, with over $55 million calculated. Disney would lose the direct duel on the US market, at least around the holidays.
