Since February 5th, German Prime customers have also had to accept advertising within films and series from Amazon Prime Video. Amazon Prime Video without advertising? Out of Germany!

But not everyone is bombarded with advertising now, It depends on where you live or where you are currently. A fact that I can personally confirm. Currently and often I find myself in a neighboring kingdom. Belgium is known for fries, chocolate and exceptionally good beer. However, Belgium is also quite small and is often overlooked.

Same from Amazon, because Here on site, Amazon Prime Video does not display any advertising with a German subscription. This applies not only to the new advertising in the middle of films and series episodes, but also to the well-known program notes at the beginning of each stream. I don't get to see these here either. For Amazon, Belgium is probably an unknown white spot in advertising marketing, so no commercials are shown here with the German subscription.

This is how Amazon Prime Video ends up on your TV:

A behavior that I have previously observed with Amazon Freevee. The one in Amazon's advertising-financed streaming service also refrains from showing advertising in this country. I was a little hoping that this would also apply to Prime Video. Lo and behold, my wishes were heard.

Does this behavior also apply to other European countries? I can't confirm it yet due to lack of experience, but I suspect so.

In theory, this behavior should also be possible for Amazon Prime Video to enforce in Germany with a Belgian VPN. But be careful: Amazon checks whether you are accessing the offer with a VPN service and then prevents playback. At least well-known VPN services can be found on an internal Amazon blacklist. If you want to try out this trick, you should keep this in mind.

The trick with the child profile

But even without a VPN, the advertising on Amazon Prime Video can currently be avoided, at least partially. The colleagues at golem.de found out that Amazon Using a child profile Prime Video does not display advertising (source: golem.de).

Very good, but you can only watch films and series with a rating of up to FSK 12. Titles with FSK 16 or even FSK 18 are left out. Here you then have to switch to a regular profile and accept advertising again.
