Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is coming this summer

Yesterday, the conference was held to take stock of the Nintendo Switch during the last fiscal year and share estimates for the following fiscal year. It is therefore not without a touch of irony that the manufacturer presents one of its cartridges for this summer through a trailer on Youtubeonce again, far from what we could expect from it, since it is the return of many NES games in Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition who arrives on the Nintendo Switch next July 18.

In its presentation trailer, Nintendo takes care to put some images of the different editions of these world championships Nintendohaving been held in 1990, 2015 and 2017. These competitions, unlike any other, required small challenges to be carried out on popular titles from Nintendo, including some games not really intended for this purpose. The trailer finally shows what the firm will offer in the version Nintendo Switch of his Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition. We see several challenges on the biggest hits of the NESlike catching the first mushroom as quickly as possible in Super Mario Bros.get rid of a very quickly Octorock In The Legend of Zelda or even reach a door as quickly as possible in Metroid.

The trailer indicates 150 challenges to be found in the 13 games in the compilation: Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong, Excitebike, Ice Climbers, Kid Icarus, Kirby's Adventure, Metroid, Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 And 3 as well as the episode Lost Levels and finally, both The Legend of Zelda of the NES. We also learn that this version will offer speedrun challenges with “time trial” modes while multiplayer will obviously be at the center of the experience with score tables with players from around the world and the possibility of playing with 8 local players.

The title will be offered on the Nintendo eShop at the price of €29.99while a collector's edition will be available exclusively on the My Nintendo Store. The latter, sold at the price of €59.99will contain a cartridge NES golden Nintendo World Championshipsa set of pins, cards bearing the image of the titles NES and of course, a game box containing the title cartridge. It is also possible to indicate your interest on the site of Nintendo in order to have priority when opening pre-orders.
