Nintendo SWITCH 2: 4K release, backward compatibility, magnetic Joy-Con… An accessories manufacturer reveals new details on the future Nintendo console – Rumor

You know the adage: never two without three ! After several weeks of calm, rumors regarding the next console of Nintendocommonly called Nintendo SWITCH 2 are multiplying, a bit as if everyone wanted their piece of cake. So, will the new console be released in 2024 Or 2025 ? Will it be backwards compatible or not? And will she propose new Joy-Con, if only to draw a line under the Joy-Con Drift ?

At this stage, anything is possible and Nintendo does his best to control his communication and keep his future plans secret.

Shuntaro Furkawathe current president of Nintendo has already warned several times that we should be wary of rumorseven twisting the necks of some, even though they are relayed by (a priori) serious media, such as the famous presentation of the console at gamescom 2023.

However, as nature abhors a vacuum, the more time passes without any official information, the greater the space for rumors of all kinds.

So today the accessories manufacturer Mobapai ventured to post details concerning the future console of Nintendo on his page Bilibili. A priori, the manufacturer would be working on different accessories for the future console and would therefore have first-hand “information” that it would have been quick to share, to be the first on the spot…

Find here the summary of these “revelations”, obviously to be taken with a pinch of salt:

  • The current Joy-Con and the Switch Pro controller would be backward compatible with the new console.
  • The new Joy-Cons would be larger and would attach to the console using an electromagnet (like another rumor started by another accessory manufacturer)
  • The ZL and ZR buttons would now be metallic
  • A new mysterious button would now be behind each Joy-Con (where you generally place your middle finger when holding the console)
  • The right Joy-Con would also have another button, just below the Home button (of current Joy-Cons)
  • HD vibrations would still be there
  • The new dock would still have a USB-C output and support 4K image output
  • The console would have a new improved kickstand for better angle adjustment
  • The console screen would be larger and now in 1080p
  • The cartridges of the Nintendo SWITCH 2 are different from those of the current Switch and therefore cannot be used with it.
  • On the other hand the Nintendo SWITCH 2 will be backwards compatible and will therefore accommodate cartridges from the current console.

Once again, these are just rumors that we are relaying to you as such, in the most precise way possible so that you can form an idea and your own opinion. We can ask ourselves the question of the interest of a manufacturer like Mobapai to make such revelations which, true or false, will clearly not be appreciated by Nintendo…Apart from the exhibition and the “advertising” offered, we see nothing else…

Obviously, we will not fail to compare all these rumors with the new console, when Nintendo will finally decide to make the presentations. Until then, don't hesitate to tell us what you think in the comments.

Nintendo's new console would be “made by Samsung” and would finally be released at the end of 2024
