From 06/11/2024 it will no longer be possible to publish captures and videos on X from the Nintendo Switch album, nor to send friend requests to social network users via the Suggestion function of friends.
Starting June 11, 2024, the following features for Nintendo Switch will no longer be available:

- X (formerly Twitter) integration feature
- Social media account integration feature for friend suggestions
Please note that the following services will be affected:
- The functionality to post screenshots and videos to X (formerly Twitter) from the Nintendo Switch HOME menu album will no longer be available.
- You will still be able to post screenshots and videos to Facebook, but be aware that this service may also end at a later date.
- It will no longer be possible to post screenshots of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the “Smash World” service of the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone application from the Nintendo Switch HOME menu album.
- Following features of Splatoon 3 for Nintendo Switch:
- When posting from the mailbox in Cité-Clabousse, Chromapolis Square, or Chromapolis, you will no longer be able to post to X (formerly Twitter) or Facebook, and the data will be sent directly to Nintendo's servers. This change will allow users to post with these social media accounts, but images posted by players under 13 will not be visible to other players.
- Images created for posts will be copied to the HOME menu album on your Nintendo Switch console. Please note that album images can be sent wirelessly to your connected device or towards a computer using a USB cable.
- Following features of Splatoon 2 for Nintendo Switch:
- You will no longer be able to post to X (formerly Twitter) from the Chromapolis Square mailbox.
- The characters that appear on Chromapolis Square and the posts that are displayed there will be replaced by pre-existing data in the game software.
- The functionality to send friend requests to social media friends via the Friend Suggestions menu on your user page in the HOME menu on Nintendo Switch will no longer be available.
- You'll still be able to use the Friend Suggest feature to find people you're friends with on Nintendo Connected Device apps, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U.
