Nintendo cannot allow itself to make these amateurish mistakes a second time

“Billich Glumb” is what they call it Franconia Things that are no good due to poor workmanship. And I keep thinking about this dialect term these days when I pick up my venerable Nintendo console. At this point I would like to briefly explain why I am looking forward to the release of the Switch 2 and at the same time fearing the worst.

When will the Nintendo Switch 2 be released?

At the moment, no one but Nintendo can definitively answer the question. Months ago it was assumed that it would be released this year, but now a release in 2025 no longer seems unreasonable. I remember that with a shudder Launch of the classic Switch more than six years ago.

At the March 3, 2017 I goose-stepped home with bulging shopping bags. So have to Shopping fans on an ordinary Saturday. In my bag was a brand new Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and all of the accompanying amiibo. However, my joy about the new Nintendo console soon took a hit.

Apart from that from the ridiculous standwho felt like he was already switching off the device when someone in the same room had to sneeze heavily, turned out to be the same Rest of the console as extremely poorly processed. A buddy of mine dropped the Nintendo Switch in the official Nintendo carrying case from about 1.5 meters on the floor and the housing was already in ruins. How did it go? this mishap further?

As far as I remember, Nintendo charged for the “repair” despite the warranty 70 euros. What I actually got was a used replacement device. And that suffered from that infamous bending effect. In the dock, my “new” Switch became bent like a banana under full load. That's not enough for you.

When the Switch controllers drift, like a kart in the famous Mario Racer

In the last few years I have had around five pairs Joy-Con controller thanks to the drifting problem need to replace. Switch owners know that these things are anything but cheap. Curiously, there are plenty of them maltreated Switch Lite my son to this day. But new concerns have been spreading for about six months.

Our two Switch consoles are completely random now the roaring at. This seems to be due to the fan, which sounds like something Shake and blow then fortunately it does its job again as usual. Still, I have a lot of questions about the Switch 2.

How can an established hardware manufacturer like Nintendo produce such a cheaply cobbled-together, extremely error-prone device? technical device brings to market? Now corresponds even a cheap smartphone a certain production standard.

In the meantime, I just hope that our two Switches will hold out until the successor finally appears. My Game Boy from 1991 is still working today. NES and Super Nintendo work like they did on day one. The 3DS is gathering dust, but still enjoys perfect functionality. Only the Switch seems to be slowly but surely falling apart. Such amateurish (production) errors Nintendo can definitely no longer afford to do this with a Switch 2.
