New tool converts fictitious in-game prices into real money for you

Whether in Diablo 4, EA Sports FC 24, Fortnite or League of Legends: No matter where you buy in-game items, you usually don't pay in euro prices, but rather using one virtual currency. This has the advantage that on the one hand you can earn these in-game coins every now and then, but at the same time the real price is disguised.

After all, they are lying Conversion rates almost never with a 1:1 ratio. Instead, sometimes absurd numbers come together, which means you quickly lose sight of how much you actually just spent on a new skin. The Sparkasse now wants to help out at this point and is presenting the so-called In-game calculator.

From Diablo 4 to Fortnite: In-game calculator helps keep an eye on your expenses

The free tool is available in German and English and shows you fr thirty different games the correct conversion rates. For example, you can see how expensive a V-Buck in Fortnite or a Platinum in Diablo 4 actually is. You can also use it to calculate exactly how expensive a skin really is.

As examples: If a skin in Fortnite costs 1,500 V-Bucks, you pay the equivalent of 13.48 euros. In Diablo 4, 1,500 platinum is 14.97 euros – a price difference of around 1.50 euros. In League of Legends, however, you only have to spend 13.02 euros to get 1,500 Riot points. Interesting: In Valorantalso from Riot Games, 1,500 Valorant points correspond to 15.79 euros.

According to the Sparkasse, this is based respective conversion rate “on the base price of the currency offered by the game provider, determined at least once per quarter”. However, the calculator does not take into account any quantity discounts or special offers, which is why the final price may vary slightly. Still, the tool can help you get a better idea of how much you actually end up spending on cosmetics or other items in video games.

Also available as an app

If you don't want to constantly go to the in-game calculator website, you can also use the Sparkasse tool as a Browser extension add. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Apple Safari are currently supported. An implementation for Mozilla Firefox is apparently planned, but is not yet available.

Alternatively, the in-game calculator is also available Mobile app for iOS and Android, although the functionality is slightly different. Currently you can only take photos of different virtual currencies, which will then be automatically converted for you within the app. The website's classic calculator is not yet implemented.

The bottom line is that the tool is still quite practical for finding out whether you actually like the skin in question so many euro coins is worth. In addition, we shouldn't even talk about microtransactions in some games anymore, as Diablo 4 recently demonstrated with an outrageously expensive package.
