Presented project release SKUDONET 7.1, which is developing a specialized distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux, optimized for deploying traffic balancers and reverse proxies, as well as creating an infrastructure for organizing application delivery. It supports both the creation of balancers for HTTP/HTTPS and the implementation of services for distributing arbitrary TCP and UDP traffic across nodes. The system is controlled and monitored via a web interface. Boot size iso image 844 MB. In addition to the finished assembly, we provide repository packages that can be used to create a SKUDONET environment based on already installed Debian systems.
The release is based on Debian 12 and ships with Linux kernel 6.1.90. Among the changes compared to the previous branch, there is an expansion of hardware support and the use of new features that appeared in the 6.1 kernel related to the network stack, virtualization, memory management, security and energy management (in last thread SKUDONET Community Edition used kernel 4.19). Added support for determining IP addresses in the balancer via DHCP. It is possible to specify domain names instead of IP addresses when configuring backends in the balancer.
