New series and Star Wars Day for the long weekend

Are you feeling the same? Because Wednesday was off, the week was completely ruined in terms of time management. While I was briefly wondering on Thursday what year it was, Netflix took the chance just in time for May 1st or Labor Day and turned the anime world upside down. Shonen hits such as “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Dr. STONE” and “Black Clover” have been available on Netflix since Wednesday, and new seasons are expected to follow in the coming weeks. By the way, there was also a promising new exclusive anime, “T・P BON”. the 70s manga classic by Fujiko Fujio heavily adapted.

But Netflix also has plenty of new things on offer with binge potential for the long weekend. The miniseries “A Whole Guy” with Jeff Daniels wants to close the gap left by the end of “Succession”, and with “Fiasco” there is also a replenishment of foreign shame for all fans of “Stromberg”, “Jerks.” and Co from France to the streaming home theater. The current Netflix week is rounded off by “Unfrosted”, Jerry Seinfeld's semi-fictional origin story the legendary US breakfast item from Kellogg's. Featuring: Melissa McCarthy, Christian Slater and Hugh Grant!

Of course, there is also fresh food for series fans from the streaming competition. For example, Apple TV+ is bringing us season 3 of the flashy comedy “Acapulco” with Eugenio Derbez, while Disney+ is premiering season 4 of the animated series “The Great North” and the promising medieval crime series “Shardlake” with Sean Bean. Will Boromir Stark survive this time? With just four episodes, you've definitely streamed season 1 straight away.

Things are getting semi-critical with Prime Video. At least when you take a closer look at the background of the new romantic dramedy “When You Saw Me.” The film tells the love story of Solène, played by Anne Hathaway, who falls head over heels in love with the much younger pop star Hayes (Nicholas Galitzine). Nothing too surprising at first – but it is based on the novel by Robinne Lee Harry Styles fan fiction, which is partly based on real events and was published quite casually without Harry's consent. You can do it like that – at least the film is surprisingly solid, then it'll be fine.

However, the current steaming week is rounded off and crowned with Disney+. Tomorrow, May 4th, the Mouse House will celebrate Star Wars Day again. May the 4th, you know. While many fans around the world use the day to binge their favorite “Star Wars” films and series in a marathon, there is also exclusive new supplies. “Star Wars: Tales of the Empire” starts tomorrow Continuation of the strong animated series “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi”, which this time – you guessed it – makes the dark side of the Force the protagonist.
