New Serial Killer Brothers Series Hits Netflix 2 Years After Jeffrey Dahmer Show

In 2024, the anthology series by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan will still make homes tremble. Monsters this time focuses on two well-known killer brothers from the United States.

It’s difficult to miss the wave of factual documentaries and similar fictions that have been invading the Netflix platform for a good handful of years now. Aficionados of morbid crimes clearly find what they are looking for on the SVOD service, and even more so since the crazy success of the Dahmer series. The man known to be an abominable serial killer, author of 17 murders and cannibalism, was recently entitled to a particularly oppressive series adaptation, which also inherited some controversies and complaints from the real families of victims. The popularity of the show is still undeniable, having generated 701 million hours of viewing in 2022. Note that if the story of this macabre character interests you, he is also the subject of a feature film currently available for free on the france.tv platform: Dahmer is a film written and directed by David Jacobson and sets its framework at a very specific time in the killer’s life, when he was employed in a chocolate factory. And it’s Jeremy Renner, known for his flagship character Hawkeye, who plays the leading role.

The Netflix series Dahmer is actually the first part of an anthology series by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan about the “monstrous criminals who have marked our society”. This year we’ll be treated to a new dose of absolute horror with the high-profile story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, two brothers who killed their parents in 1989. Both were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

5-star casting on the program

Succeeding the very good Evan Peters, a 5-star cast is invited for the second season of Monsters. We already know that Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny play parents Jose and Kitty Menendez, while young Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch play brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez. You will also find Nathan Laner in the role of investigative journalist Dominick Dunne, who notably covered the trials for Vanity Fair. Also Ari Graynor will play Leslie Abramson, Erik Menendez’s lawyer, while Leslie Grossman (American Horror Story) will play Judalon Smyth, a former patient and mistress of Erik Menendez’s therapist. The release is set for the end of 2024, without additional details.
