New Netflix Anime Takes Fans Back in Time from Fullmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia Studios

Netflix has finally revealed a trailer for its next anime: T・P BON, produced by the famous Bones studio, which you certainly know for their work on My Hero Academia or Alchemist.

A GOOD anime?

science fiction manga Fujiko F. Fujio's “Time Patrol Bon,” which originated in 1978 and is responsible for such classics as Doraemon, Perman and Kiteretsu Daihyakka, is brought to life in an anime series titled T・P BON, which will make its debut on May 2. This new adaptation is produced by the famous BONES studio, known in particular for My Hero Academia and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Looking at this first trailer, this anime promises us a journey through a magical universe exploring the twists and turns of world history.

Here is the synopsis from Netflix:

The story immerses us in the life of Bon Namihira (played by Akihisa Wakayama), an ordinary third-year student whose destiny is turned upside down when he crosses paths with Ream Stream (played by Atsumi Tanezaki), an agent of the Patrol of Time comes from the future. Under the tutelage of Ream, Bon embarks on a journey through time in the company of the latter and the mysterious creature Buyoyon (played by Mamoru Miyano), with the aim of saving those whose lives were tragically cut short without significantly alter the course of history. Although Bon is initially captivated by the excitement of his adventures, he quickly finds himself confronted with the countless tragedies of history and develops a sincere desire to help others. The Time Patrol obeys strict rules, including not interfering with events whose outcome could significantly alter the course of history and have a major impact on the world. Despite doubts and occasional failures, Bon, Ream and their team courageously continue their mission, skillfully juggling between the lives that need to be saved and those that cannot. What new adventures await Bon as he aspires to become a permanent member of the Time Patrol?


The B・A of T・P BON

The trailer launches us straight into the plot: Bon's friend falls from his apartment, and lands dead on the sidewalk below. It is then that Ream Stream, agent of the Time Patrol, appears before Bon, dressed in a futuristic helmet and uniform, and manages to go back in time in a spectacular way, thus canceling the fateful fate of the friend good.

Witness to this event, Bon is recruited into the “T・P (Time Patrol)”, a secret organization whose objective is to save individuals facing dire destinies throughout the ages. Accompanied by Ream and Buyoyon, Bon travels through different moments in history, from the construction of the Egyptian pyramids to feudal Japan, through the Persian wars in Greece, and many more.

From the studios of Fullmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia, this Netflix anime will take you back in time!

Throughout their adventures, Bon and his team must not only demonstrate courage and strategy to resolve conflicts, but also use their knowledge of history to successfully navigate the different eras. They interact with famous historical figures, learn new details about historical events, and sometimes discover surprising secrets hidden in the past.

The manga also explores the ethical implications of time travel, including the moral dilemmas Bon and his comrades face when they must decide whether to intervene in historical events or simply observe without interfering.

T・P BON will be available on the Netflix SVOD platform from May 2 for its first season, and July 17 for its second season.
