There are only 2 months left before the arrival of Shadow of the Erdtree, the highly anticipated DLC for Elden Ring! It is on June 21 that the addition of content will land on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. A long wait which is about to end, more than 2 years after the release of the base game… In this expansion, the “largest” ever developed by the FromSoftware studio, players will be immersed in the Kingdom of Shadows , land of exile of “Miquella”, brother of Malenia (considered the most difficult boss of Elden Ring). On the program: new places to explore, opponents and of course, new weapons. In total, Shadow of the Erdtree will add eight new weapon types to the adventure.

Glossless Kung Fu

Within this brand new arsenal, there is a category that particularly caught the eye during the release of the DLC trailer last February… It is a fighting style only for bare hands (feet are also used) – as if the character suddenly mastered martial arts ! A very notable addition for an action-RPG from FromSoftware, as mimines are usually only used when the player is not equipped with weapons.

From now on, the 100-bullet question is: what equipment suddenly makes us become a Kung-Fu star? A user of Reddit seems to have the answer. In a message published 5 days ago, Stargazr331 points out thateach time a character in the trailer thinks he is Bruce Lee, he wears a sort of “belt / badge” with a very recognizable pattern. “Although the character in the image and the character in the trailer are wearing two completely different sets of armor, they both have the exact same item on their belt,” he says. Here is the little item in question.

The famous “belt” which would allow players to master martial arts (Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree)

Other weapons to come

What's more (and to the extent that martial arts embody a new type of weapon in their own right), Stargazr331 suggests thatthere would be several belts with other foot chains | hands. And knowing the extremism of FromSoftware, it is entirely a possible option. For the rest, Shadow of the Erdtree will add Odachi (a sort of claymore “katana version”), a category dedicated to throwing weapons and even Dueling Shield, a shield with a blade in its center.
