How the initiative came about
Nikko Toshogu Shrine, a shrine located in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, a city familiar with plastic models, is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its registration as a World Heritage Site of the “Shrines and Temples of Nikko” in 2024. Elementary schools in the city are holding experience-based assembly classes using Gundam plastic models as part of problem-solving learning.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Nikko Toshogu Shrine's registration as a World Heritage Site, BANDAI SPIRITS has decided to create and donate a Gunpla model inspired by Nikko Toshogu Shrine in order to contribute to Nikko City's “regional revitalization through plastic models.”

◆Musha Gundam Mk-II Tokugawa Ieyasu Ver. is now available as a Gunpla model based on the “Nanban Dogusoku” motif!

The motif is the “Nanban Dogusoku”.

This product is the “Musha Gundam Mk-II Tokugawa Ieyasu Ver.”, which has been made into an MG Gunpla model based on the colors and helmet of the “Nanban Do Gusoku (exhibited in the treasure house of Nikko Toshogu Shrine)” that Tokugawa Ieyasu is said to have worn during the Battle of Sekigahara.

The body molding color is based on black to recreate the image of the “Nanban Do-gusoku” (Nanban armor), with the body and weapons being black-plated and chrome-plated. The red of the grass skirting and other parts is made of washi paper stickers, and the three-leaf hollyhock family crest is made of a glossy sticker.

It also comes with a variety of weapons that allow you to enjoy displaying it in various action poses as a Gunpla.

The price of the “MG 1/100 Musha Gundam Mk-II Tokugawa Ieyasu Nanban Do Gusoku Ver.” is 7,700 yen (tax included). It will be available for pre-sale at Nikko Toshogu Shrine from Monday, May 27, 2024, and will also be sold at “THE GUNDAM BASE”, “Premium Bandai”, and other events at a later date.
