Mysterious reference to Marvel and the MCU? Taylor Swift's new album raises many questions

Actually you would go around Marvel, DC and cinema in general doesn't necessarily make headlines Taylor Swift expect. That's not to say that the world-famous pop star isn't regularly present in tabloid journalism coverage or on social media. However, this usually takes place independently of the cinema business.

Last year, the 34-year-old was still present in exactly this category. Mainly shot the star's latest concert film their name in the film reporting. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is playing an important role these days, especially after the release of their latest album.

New records thanks to Taylor Swift

Hardly is The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology on the market, reports of records on Spotify are already coming thick and fast. Zeit Online reports over 200 million streams within just 24 hours. All well and good, but where does the Marvel Cinematic Universe come into play?

One of the songs on the album is Clara Bow and its final lines have fueled speculation that has been going on for months. “You look like Taylor Swift – In this light, we're lovin' it – You've got the edge she never did – The future's bright, dazzling” concludes the song.

Will we see Taylor Swift in Deadpool & Wolverine?

The term “dazzling” is particularly striking here. Many see the final lines of the song as a reference to the possible MCU debut of Taylor Swift in the role of Alison Blaire, also known as Dazzler. Of course, this assumption may be a bit far-fetched, but the rumors surrounding Swift and Marvel have been around for a while.

There has always been speculation that one of the greatest pop stars of all time could appear in the new Deadpool film. Unsurprisingly, there is no official confirmation of this yet.
