A new update is available for the MSMG ToolKit.Some improvements have been made in the new ToolKit 13.4.Thanks to the many tireless helpers.New components have also been integrated that can be removed from an ISO.But more on that below.

But first, here is the list of changes in MSMG ToolKit 13.4:

  • Updated the toolkit bin folder with the Windows 11 v22H2 Insider Preview WADK (v10.0.25370.1) tools
  • Added an “Unattended” main menu item to automatically create an XML file for the selected source image
  • The “Source off -Select Folder” has been updated to detect whether the detected ESD source is a memory or MCT ESD image.
  • Fixed a bug in the “Extract Source from Store ESD Image” function where the toolkit could not handle the Store ESD to WIM conversion.
  • Fixed a bug in the Extract Source from MCT or Custom ESD Image function where the toolkit could not handle the MCT or Custom ESD to WIM conversion.

  • Toolkit code optimization

New components to remove:

Distance can also bring problems.Hence MSMG’s explanations on this.

  • ClientCBS – Removes User Experience Pack, breaks Input App, Windows 11 Start Menu and screen clipping. For Windows 11 21H2, Windows 10 Start Menu, Explorer and Taskbar will be restored, also some resource files for some system applications can be restored.
  • CloudExperienceHost – Requires a full unattended installation with no internet connection and requires SkipMachineOOBE to be enabled in the unattended xml.If you remove this component, do not add OOBE updates to the image.
  • InputApp – Disabled touch input application, touch keyboard functionality.
  • ShellExperienceHost – Disabled Start Menu and Taskbar flyout popups for Battery, Calendar, Clock, Sound, Network, Action Center for Windows 10 17763-18363.Prevents popup windows in the taskbar for Battery Calendar, Clock, Sound, Network, Action Center for Windows 10 1904x and Windows 11
  • StartMenuExperienceHost – Disabled the boot menu for windows 11, an error dialog pops up on first boot, once the log out button is clicked in the dialog, the operating system is logged out, then the user needs to log in to correct this error. This is due to Windows 11’s default option to show the Start menu at login. If anyone finds a tweak to disable this option, it will contribute to the removal process.
  • UndockedDevKit – Removed the Settings -> System -> About Window page.If this component is removed without the above components then the Windows setup will complete properly otherwise it gets stuck with a blank screen on completing the setup then the user needs to reboot once to fix the fix. Therefore, this component has not been included in the toolkit’s removal menu.If the user wants to remove them, he can use the list or the manual method.
