Moving and Rotating Buildings in Manor Lords

In the building strategy game Manor Lords you build a small village into a sizeable city. The main priority is a functioning infrastructure, but aesthetics can also play an important role. Of course, it's good to know how you can rotate buildings before construction or move them after placement. You can find out this and more here.

Rotate buildings

To rotate a building in Manor Lords, go to the “Buildings” tab at the bottom of the screen or press the C key. Select the building you want to place from the list and find a suitable location for it within your region.

Now hold down the left mouse button and move the mouseto rotate the building accordingly. Don't worry: the building will not be placed automatically when you release the button. Once you have found the appropriate angle, press the left mouse button again to place the structure.

If you want to place the building on a street, it will usually automatically align itself with the street connection point. Some houses also have several road connection points. Here you can first detach the building you want to place from the street, rotate it in an open area as you wish and then connect it to the street.

But not all buildings can be rotated in Manor Lords. If a square can be seen in the building picture, it is a variable property. This includes the farm, but also the market place or the pasture. While there is no front or back for the latter two anyway, the only question that remains is how you can position the farmsteads correctly.

Farmsteads are not placed individually. Instead, their number is determined by the size of your first two markers. Select the farm and click on an open area to select the starting point.

The second marking point determines the orientation and the road connection points of the farmsteads. The third marking regulates how large the farms will be. Once a farm reaches a certain size, it can be expanded – for example with a chicken coop. The fourth marker leads back to the starting point.

Move houses

If you have placed a house and want to move it to another location instead, that is also possible. Click on a building to open the info box. There are several icons at the top of the info box. To the right of the tear off symbol is the move symbol. Select it to move the house.

However, the building does not simply disappear and reappear somewhere else as if by magic. Essentially, the structure is simply torn down and has to be rebuilt somewhere else.

If a house doesn't have the move symbol, you can simply demolish it instead. Then call up the building menu, select the relevant house and place it where you want it. You do not lose any resources by demolishing a building. The resources you spent on construction appear at the location of the recently destroyed building and simply need to be transported back to the warehouse.
