We have of course included the tweet in question below this message for you. Already at the end of 2023 cleared Actor Antony Starr announced that he would not take on this role in “Mortal Kombat 1”.

Ed Boon talks about the future

These include, of course, the DLC characters. In addition, according to Boon, new classic outfits, more cameo fighters and additional online features are planned. Unfortunately, Boon did not go into further detail regarding the planned online features.

The same applies to the “secrets” that are currently being created at NetherRealm Studios and will make their way into “Mortal Kombat 1” in due course.

New story expansion and more planned

In December, Boon spoke in detail about his team's future plans. As Boon explained, NetherRealm Studios is planning post-launch support that will be even more extensive than was the case with “Mortal Kombat 11”.

Among other things, the developers are planning an extensive story expansion, which will be published at an unspecified date.

“Similar to Mortal Kombat 11, we will be releasing another part that will offer an even more extensive story,” Boon added. Of course, the “Invasion” mode is also supported at regular intervals with fresh updates and seasons.

“Mortal Kombat 1” was released in September 2023 for the PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.
