Apple TV+ has a solid library of international content, and the company is now beefing up its team in London by hiring staff specializing in unscripted original series.

Broadcast reports that Max Gogarty, formerly of the British Broadcasting Corporation, has been hired by the London-based Apple TV+ team. The European team is led by Jay Hunt, but Gogarty will report directly to his former BBC colleague Alison Kirkham.

Gogarty is well known for headlining various unscripted events and was previously Executive Editor of BBC3. During his time at the BBC, Gogarty made various documentaries such as Roman Kemp: Our Quiet Emergency, Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction and others.

The report highlights that Gogarty joined the BBC in 2015 and has since built a positive reputation among his peers. Broadcast says that Gogarty’s hiring at Apple TV+ “points to more projects to come,” but there’s no timeline for when those new projects could see the light of day.
