  • Innate skills are always present from the beginning to the end of the game. Each hero has unique innate skills.

  • Each hero's innate skills can be viewed on the hero page or in the game by placing the mouse on the new icon between the hero's talent tree and skills.

  • There are two types of innate skills: some innate skills provide a unique effect to the hero. For example, Faceless Void will reduce the speed of enemy attack projectiles in range, and Morningstar will reveal the full map to friendly forces when the sun rises; some innate skills allow a hero skill to have five levels, and it will have a level 1 at level 1. For example, Kunkka's “Tidebringer” and Legion Commander's “Moment of Courage” now start at level 1, and can still be upgraded to four levels as usual

life stone

  • Gems are customization options for heroes that make their playstyle more tailored to a particular comp or player's preferences. Gems are unique to each hero: each hero has at least two Gems, and each player can choose their preferred Gem during the Strategy Time at the start of each game.

  • Hero life stones can be viewed on the hero page below the hero name and tags. In-game, you can also hover the mouse over the new icon between the hero's talent tree and skills, on the scoreboard, and on the top bar by holding down the Alt key.

  • Lifestones can have a variety of effects, for example: Viper can choose to poison his attacks to increase the burst of area damage, or increase the bonus of corrosive skin when in Nether Toxin; Wraith King can choose to summon skeletons, or cause additional curse damage when attacking; Leshrac can choose to attack to restore magic, or change the Demonic Edict to make it explode faster but not damage buildings; Druid can choose to strengthen the soul link so that both parties can enjoy the lifesteal effect, or True Bear Form can cast on the Bear Spirit.
