Spyro 4, a reality? There is almost no doubt left

This information comes to us from Canadian Guy Eh, who is well known for his content around this license and Crash Bandicoot. Our man released a new video talking about Toys for Bob, and more specifically about a game that would be in development with them: Spyro 4. He begins by explaining to us that over the last few months, he has spoken with many people working in industry. And each time, there were rumors about a sequel. The sources have obviously not been revealed.

He continues by talking about his appearance at PAX East on March 20. He spoke with several developers, including some who directly mentioned Spyro 4. One of them made comments that the leaker had already heard in the past. But this is not the biggest cartridge he has in reserve for this mysterious game. To put you in context, an article was recently published by Jez Corden, detailing an agreement reached between Microsoft and Toys for Bob to put together the studio's first independent game.

This one “would resemble old games from the firm”. Canadian Guy Eh informs us that he was already aware of this before the article was published. Following its broadcast, he spoke about it with various people at PAX East. In the lot, there is one which is formal: Spyro 4 has been in the works since January 2024. Well, you will have understood, all this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it is clear that the clues are accumulating, leaving almost no room for doubt as to the existence of this title.

Toys for Bob plays with our emotions

Yes, we often talk about rumors, but the studio itself has already played with our emotions at this level. For example, last January, Spyro's official X account (formerly Twitter) posted the following message: “ 2024 Motto » accompanied by an image of the dragonet. We could then read the following sentence: “ You must believe! “. It’s hard not to see this as a more or less subtle confirmation. Especially since it coincides with the start date of development that we talked about above, even if it is not official.

If you're still not convinced, Toys for Bob published another message that got several people's heads up. When he announced his separation from Activision to become independent, he made it clear that he had to stay on the lookout for his future projects in a rather unique way. He said “Keep your horns on”, which can be roughly translated to “Keep your horns on the lookout”. A direct reference to our friend Spyro. All that to say that this story is starting to feel good.
