Lego introduces new Pokémon sets that bring a significant improvement.
The Lego Group and The Pokémon Company introduce new Lego Pokémon sets. Fans can look forward to a legendary Pokémon, a Poké Ball made of stones and, above all, real Pokémon minifigures.
New Pokémon sets for August and October
The new range of sets takes a different approach than the last Pokémon models. Above all, this means that you can do without the controversial Smart Bricks, which have significantly affected the designs of some Pokémon. Instead, fans are finally getting minifigures of characters like Red and Professor Oak as well as cute figures of Eevee and Pikachu.
However, the new sets are significantly larger and therefore significantly more expensive. Here is the complete list:
From August 1, 2026:
- Lego Pokémon Mampfaxo (72150): 757 pieces for 69.99 euros (view in the Lego store)
- Lego Pokémon Arkani (72160): 1,190 pieces for 109.99 euros (view in the Lego store)
- Lego Pokémon Rayquaza (72168): 1,083 pieces for 129.99 euros (view in the Lego store)
From October 1, 2026:
- Lego Pokémon Pokéball with impressive trainer moments (72154): 2,368 pieces for 259.99 euros (view in the Lego store)
- Lego Pokémon Red as a large minifigure (40868): 930 pieces for 79.99 euros (view in the Lego store)
New Lego sets bring minifigures instead of smart bricks
The new Lego Pokémon sets finally bring minifigures. The Rayquaza set includes a Pokémon Trainer minifigure, Lorekeeper Amalia. The Poké Ball will be adding three minifigures in October: Professor Oak, a picnicker and the iconic trainer Red.
Three of the new sets will be released on August 1st along with the Smart Play sets. Anyone who has been disappointed by the blocky monster designs has alternatives (if their wallet allows).
