Foreign Minister Lavrov accused the West of direct robbery of Russia
Among the anti-Russian measures used by the West, any hostile actions, including outright robbery, turned out to be acceptable. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, reports TASS on Saturday, May 14th.
“Political correctness, decency, rules, and with them the legal norms are simply discarded, the culture of the abolition of everything Russian is applied, any hostile actions against our country are allowed, including outright robbery,” he said.
The minister lamented that in the West, Russian cultural figures, artists, athletes, scientists, businessmen, as well as ordinary Russian citizens, are being persecuted.
At the same time, according to him, diplomats “often have to work in extreme conditions, sometimes with a risk to health and life.” Lavrov recalled that there had never been such a massive simultaneous expulsion of Russian diplomats “even in the darkest years of the Cold War.”
“This, of course, destroys the general atmosphere of relations with the West, but, on the other hand, it frees up both forces and human resources, primarily for working in those areas that really need to be linked to the future development of our country,” the Russian Foreign Minister noted.
Lavrov also promised that the West would feel the consequences of a hybrid war against Russia. According to him, Moscow did everything possible to avoid a collision, but “the challenge has already been thrown.”
