The “God of War” franchise is growing. A board game adaptation has been announced and is scheduled to appear in June 2025. First of all, the financing is ongoing.
“God of War” is another video game brand that is realized as a board game. The makers rely on one Crowdfunding campaignin which interested parties can participate until May 3, 2024.

The goal of $150,000 has long been reached. Financing currently stands at around $280,000. So the game is implemented.
Supporters have the choice between two packages. The $70 Mortal box contains only the standard game and no stretch goals. You can purchase the Demigod edition for $20 more. In addition to the game, all stretch goals achieved up to the release are included here.
This is what God of War offers as a board game
In the standard game, one or two players can experience the adventures of Kratos and his son Atreus together. The plot takes place between the first and second parts of the new “God of War” games.
The two main characters are miniatures in the box. In addition, 30 enemies, four bosses and an NPC come with the delivery as miniatures. Variable playing fields, score cards and other game material are also included.

There are eight different quests for players to choose from. According to the manufacturer CMON, one playthrough takes at least an hour. The game is recommended for players aged 14 and over.
Buyers of the Demigod Edition of the “God of War” game will also receive the stretch goals. These are additional miniatures that are gradually revealed over the course of the campaign.
The Gamefound page also states that the number of players can be expanded up to four with add-ons. This increase is part of the stretch goals and comes in the “Blacksmith Brothers” DLC.
More than God of War
The company Cool Mini or Not, CMON for short, has already had some successful ones in the past Video game implementations published. Among other things, CMON is responsible for the board game for “Bloodborne”. There is also a Soulslike card game in the repertoire.
It is not the first time that CMON has ventured into the “God of War” universe. A Card game with Kratos and Co was released four years ago. However, there were no miniatures included.
Board game fans are currently getting their money's worth. There was recently an announcement about “Rayman the Boardgame” and it’s coming to Amazon Sale for board and board games.
