The development studio Naughty Dogknown for titles like “The Last of Us” and “Uncharted,” has made an important personnel decision. Rafael Grassetti, the former art director of “God of War” and “God of War Ragnarok”strengthens the team around Neil Druckmann.
Grassetti announced this via an Instagram post and also hinted at an exciting new project.
A new chapter for Naughty Dog
Grassetti looks back on an impressive career. In addition to his work on the recent “God of War” titles, he has been involved in franchises such as “Mass Effect,” “Killzone” and “Infamous” in the past.
Grassetti returns to Sony after a brief stint at Netflix. His work there ended abruptly when the streaming service stopped most game production. Now he's part of Naughty Dog's vision to shape the next generation of PlayStation titles.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing crew and project at Naughty Dog and to be back at PlayStation!” Grassetti wrote in his Instagram post. His role as art director will see him play a key role in the visual design of the upcoming game.
“A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this possible and to all my friends from the sister studios. I'm thrilled and can't wait to share more about it! Cheers!” he continued.
While the studio has not yet officially revealed any details about the next game, rumors are simmering. Some speculate about an entirely new science fiction IPothers suspect that Naughty Dog is on “The Last of Us Part 3” or one Remake of “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” works. However, based on previous statements, the last two options are unlikely – at least with regard to the project led by Druckmann.
