The third story DLC “Mysteria Ecclesiae” from KCD 2 begins with the quest “The Royal Physician”. In it you go looking for Albich von Uniczow in Kutná Hora and go with him to the Sedlec Monastery. In our solution we will guide you through all the steps of the quest.
Start “The Royal Physician”.
In order to play this quest, you must first start the DLC “Mysteria Ecclesiae”. You can find all the information about this in the linked guide. Then talk to me Peter of Pisek in Sukdol in the very west of Kutná Hora. Its location will be marked on the map with a purple shield with a gold cross.
The DLC begins with Peter von Pisek in Sukdol.
In the dialogue with Pisek, select the “I would like to help” option so that he tells you about Albich von Uniczow. He is a doctor and will soon visit the Sedlec monastery on an important mission. Pisek wants you to accompany him for protection. He gives you this “Letter of recommendation from Mr. Pisek” and the quest begins.
Talk to Albich von Uniczow
Go to the marked house in Kutná Hora and talk to the merchant inside on the ground floor. Ask him about Albich and he will tell you that he is in one of the neighboring houses to heal a sick maid. The house will be marked further east. In front of the north entrance Matthew, ram of Tseyleruckus. You can’t get in here via the door. So go to the back entrance south.
You can enter the house where Albich is via the back entrance.
Inside, run up the stairs and then into the room on the right, where Albich treats the maid in bed. When talking to him, stay quiet at first so that he can finish his treatment. This is how you collect your first reputation points from him. Then exhaust all dialogues with him and show him the letter from Mr. Pisek. Your conversation is then rudely interrupted by Matthäus.
Drive out Matthew
You go to the door with Albich and are confronted by Matthäus and his companion. Here you decide how you want to proceed. You can fight Matthäus or convince him with various skill checks. To collect reputation points, choose the Dialogue “Albich is the king’s doctor!” (Medium/Science). As a result, Matthew leaves intimidated.
A fight should be your last option against Matthew.
Note that throughout the DLC, Albich will favor thoughtful and diplomatic actions on your part and reward him with positive reputation.
Talk to Albich about heading to the monastery
Albich will then ask you if you want to go to the monastery together. Please note that once you enter the monastery you cannot leave it anymore. until you have completed the entire DLC! A corresponding information screen will be displayed. If you want to do things beforehand and check out our tips for DLC preparation, first select the dialog “I need some time.”.
If you are ready, talk to Albich again and travel with him to the Sedlec monastery. After a long cutscene you will be welcomed by Abbot Jan. He tells you about three sick people who have been infected with an unknown disease. The quest then ends and goes directly into the follow-up quest “Anamnesis”.
