What is this Amazon e-reader?

The Kindle Scribe is an e-reader from the Kindle range with dimensions of 196 × 229 × 5.8 mm and a weight of 433 g. The device is easy to hold and manipulate, despite its wide format which does not make it easy to hold with one hand. It features a 10.2-inch reflection-free Paperwhite screen, with very good brightness, day and night. The warm lighting is adjustable and indeed offers good reading comfort, including in direct sunlight or in a dark room, while the paper rendering is stunning.

The texts are perfectly readable, and all the features are easily accessible while reading, via an intuitive and responsive menu. The Kindle range comes with a large library of content, through the Kindle subscription. The latter allows you to access a catalog of 35,000 ebooks in French, magazines and comics. Note that the Kindle Scribe can display illustrations with very good image quality and in a good resolution, ideal for reading manga.

Is the Kindle Scribe worth it at this price?

This Scribe model is much more interesting on sale than at its normal price, if you need an e-reader that acts as a notebook. The E-Link screen and included stylus allow you to take notes like in a real paper notebook. The stylus comes in two versions, basic and premium, and attaches magnetically to the side of the Kindle. The premium model includes an eraser as well as a customizable button to which you can associate the shortcut of your choice. Apart from this difference, both styluses offer several line widths, a highlighter mode, and a tool to undo the last action.

The Kindle Scribe's screen provides the same writing sensation as real paper. The stylus allows you to create texts, calendars, or even annotate PDFs. Folders and sub-folders are present to easily organize your note taking. Without being as intuitive as a computer, the menus are clear and easy to navigate. Note that you can email your notes in PDF or Word format. In terms of autonomy, allow twelve weeks in reading mode only, and three weeks in note-taking mode.
