James Bond trailer starring Henry Cavill reaches three million views in a short time, but the most popular AI trailer surprises

AI tools make it possible to create short scenes for concept trailers for films that will never exist (or at least not with the cast shown).

One such video of Henry Cavill as James Bond recently got a lot of attention. But it is clearly beaten by another trailer of this kind that at least surprised us.

What videos are they about? The contributions made, among other things, with the help of AI come from YouTube channel KH Studio. There are now a lot of videos of this kind, but the ones from KH Studio are among the most successful.

• The trailer for a supposed 26th Bond film with Henry Cavill, which is now around two weeks old, had over three million views after just a few days. There are currently 3.7 million views.
• The YouTube channel's most popular video is only six days older, but has already reached 6.2 million views. It shows the mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor as the cartoon character Popeye:

Why Popeye of all people?

Popeye by the American illustrator Elzie Crisler Segar achieved worldwide fame as a literally quick-witted sailor with a penchant for spinach. As far as we know, it has only been used as a template for films outside of the animation sector once.

• In 1980 the film was released Popeye – The Sailor with the Hard Punch. Starring at the time: Robin Williams, who later starred in films like Good morning, Vietnam, The Dead Poets Club and Hook became world famous.
• The inspiration for the AI ​​trailer above could be related to current rumors about a new edition: According to the magazine Variety there's actually a big Popeye movie in the making.
• The film is said to come from Chernin Entertainment and King Features and is associated with the author Michael Caleo (among others for The Sopranos known). Nothing is known about the main role yet.

Henry Cavill's latest starring role is in the Guy Ritchie film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare played. You can see the (real) trailer below, but it is not yet known whether and when the film will be released in Germany.

But back to Popeye: Even though the comic character doesn't have a beard, Conor McGregor, who became known as a UFC fighter, does a good job in this role for our taste.

Unsurprisingly, he can only be seen as such in the trailer for a very short time.

What are such trailers based on? In addition to AI elements such as short videos, which are often clearly recognizable as AI-generated, KH Studios' videos also rely on scenes from real films.

• For example, there are scenes in the AI ​​trailer for Henry Cavill as James Bond Codename UNCLE from 2015 can be seen.
• The video for Conor McGregor as Popeye contains elements from the current one Remake of Road House with Jake Gyllenaal and from the film The storm with George Clooney from 2000.
