The mod “The Legion Comes for you” shows its hideous face, and so Kalyna, MD and a heavily armed NPC granny along with a few militiamen find themselves facing superior numbers in the dock sector.
Jörg Langer's Letsplay on Jagged Alliance is financed via crowdfunding. If you participate, you will not only enable further episodes (the goal: to complete the game!), but you will also have the chance to enter the game as a mercenary.
Hopefully this 24th episode will have a chance of attracting attention compared to the World Cup final on Sunday! The two specialists Kalyna and MD certainly have no chance when it comes to defending the docks against 17 attackers. Or do they? Since the fight cannot be fought automatically – probably because of the mod “The Legion Comes for you” (which is turned off at the beginning of the episode, but too late for this situation), we have to get through it. But after a bout of “How do I let them both die quickly?” defeatism at the beginning, Jörg has to deal with his ambition. Is there a happy ending for the two hired mercenaries after all?
Season 2 ends with this episode – quickly throw in some crowdfunding ducats to have a better chance of being accepted into the henchman team in the draw on Tuesday! As a reward for reaching season 3, Jörg will clean up the inventory and re-equip the mercenaries before episode 25 – that saves a whole episode in which nothing else would happen.
Current status of crowdfunding: Season 2 is fully funded, Season 3 only about 75%. Five crowdfunders are already among the henchmen: Commander KriesingSniper Moetechnician LevelGrenadier L0dg3rClose Combat Fighter Sathoria – they all wear the special medal. There are also several hired helpers like Grunty, Buns and others.
This is what Jagged Alliance 3 is all about
As usual in Jagged Alliance, Jörg finds himself as a mercenary leader in an exotic place – in this case Grand Chien – where he helps the poor people against militant villains. In the case of Jagged Alliance 3 Jörg and his henchmen (the user-selected name of our squad) help President Lafontaine's daughter Emanuelle after her father was overthrown by the evil “Major”. In order to restore order, the henchmen conquer sector after sector of the country in exciting turn-based tactical battles and thus also take over the valuable diamond mines and other facilities of Grand Chien. Not to enrich themselves, of course, but the wages have to be paid somehow…
The mission briefing

- Mods: Only Chance to Hit and those necessary for the special rule.
Donor Bonus 1: Every donor receives Profile medal(s).
- Donor Bonus 2: The donors of the 1st season appear in the credits.
- Donor Bonus 3: Before the start of the Letsplay, the donors have Squad names and decided on “Stooge” (see also the display above the logo in the intro of each episode).
Special Rule 1: The 3 main donors and 1 randomly selected donor appear as mercenaries with their GG username.
- Special Rule 2: 1 user mercenary is added per season. From the second season onwards there will be five user characters. The new mercenary will be raffled off among all donors, with each 5 euros of the previous donation amount resulting in 1 ticket.
Special Rule Explanation
“Join the team!” they said… but how? The special rule mercenaries are created in consultation with Jörg (portrait, skill points, traits), because in order for the starting team to “work”, roles such as medic, mechanic must be covered and everyone must be able to handle at least one type of weapon. The special rule (possible through the mod multi-imp by SkunkXL) changes the game balance, as the constant pressure of money from mercenary fees is removed in the first few weeks of the game. However, each of your own mercenaries costs a one-time fee of $6,999, so that after the game starts, only $2,004 is left, which is enough for a short-term engagement of a loser, er, inexpensive mercenary.
As written above, the number of user mercenaries will increase over the course of the seasons. However, the number of team members in the game is limited to 16 (and 6 per squad). If we reach season 7, that would mean that up to 10 of the 16 hired warriors would be users. Since finances should no longer be a problem from the mid-game onwards, I don't expect this to have any “imba” effects.
Mercenaries can be found in Jagged Alliance 3 die permanentlythen in the case of user mercenaries they will be replaced with the next main donor and a new character. Due to the limitation of the mod for your own mercenaries by a limited number of portraits (extended by the mod AIM: Even More Mercs), this only applies once per starting user mercenary and until the end of Season 3.
I hope you enjoy this episode!
