The successor to the Nintendo Switch has played a major role in video game reporting for years. Once upon a time we had over one potential Pro model of the hybrid console discussed. The fan community is now no longer eagerly waiting for some kind of Switch 1.5, but for one Switch2.
It is already official that Nintendo wants to announce the console in the near future. This is how you plan as we have reported, among other things, a reveal of the new console before the end of the current financial year. In the case of Nintendo, this is still running until End of March 2025.

New features for the Switch 2
Of course, the rumor mill is already buzzing about the possibility of the new Nintendo Switch. At the beginning of May there were reports about the possible frame rate on the device. Previously, alleged specs had often appeared in the media, for example regarding the Cartridges or the screen.
However, there has not been an official presentation to date. After Gamescom 2023 it was temporary of demos behind the scenes to read. Regardless of whether this actually happened, Nintendo fans continue to wait for the Switch 2 to be revealed.

But not just the first images of the console or their specs keep the fan base busy. The question seems to be much more pressing as to when we can actually expect a release.

When is the Nintendo Switch 2 coming?
Officially, we don't yet know when the Nintendo Switch 2 will come onto the market. In many places, a release for the 2024 Christmas season is currently not expected. Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo, finally noted in the most recent financial report that the next console was not included in the financial calculations for the current financial year.
This is where analyst Daniel Ahmad comes into play. Ahmad is Director of Research & Insights at Niko Partners and caused a stir with a tweet about the president's statement. So be it based on the statement anything but certainthat the release date of the console is already set in stone.

Before the unveiling of the Switch 2, Nintendo is getting people talking with numerous retro classics.
In the case of the Nintendo Switch, as Ahmad recalls, the new console had already been taken into account in the financial plan for the financial year. In the eyes of the analyst, however, there is a key difference. “The important difference here is that Nintendo has not announced a release date for the Switch successor, and therefore there is no need to build it into the financial plan“, are his words.
At the same time, Ahmad emphasizes that this does not mean that the Switch 2 will be released during the Christmas season. The console could be added to the financial plan later, or simply brought onto the market after April 2025. In any case, it remains to be seen when exactly and in what form we will officially see the new console for the first time.
