It's been more than 10 years since this big name in video games has been in the spotlight. However, it should soon take the place of Alan Wake, since a remake is in preparation. Max Payne in 2024, what do we know?

Released in 2001, 2003 and 2012, the three opuses of Max Payne sold rather well, with a few million copies each. However, since Rockstar Gamescreator of Grand Theft Auto V, took over the license to make the third opus, nothing more. But that was until'in 2022 where the Remedy studio (creator of the series) announced a remake of Max Payne 1 and 2. This return promises to be interesting even if it is a little vague.

Now that Alan Wake 2 as well as Alan Wake Remastered are out, the studio Remedy Entertainment declares that he wants to focus on this remake of the license Max Payneas we learn in his recent business review. The project is now a priority and is expected to enter active production between April and June 2024. Unfortunately, we do not yet have a release date.
Who is Max Payne?
Developped by Remedy Entertainmenta Finnish studio, Max Payne East a New York police officer who experienced a difficult ordeal: the murder of his wife and daughter. As he was returning home, thugs broke into his house. Max Payne unfortunately falls into depression and has a hard time understanding that he is not guilty. But then, if his family's killers have already been eliminated, who is at fault? The policeman will look for the cause of all this by infiltrating a mafia network. The men who destroyed his life were under the influence of a new drug called Valkyrie and he will try to find answers within the distribution network of this new scourge. But the truth about his family's murder won't be easy to reveal.
This is the story of the first opus, because the second takes place after the said truth comes to light and a gang war sets New York City ablaze. Highly appreciated by critics, the Max Payne games are known for their unique action gameplay thanks to the use of bullet time and this tortured main character. This comes from the English “maximum” and “pain”, meaning “maximum pain”. The return of Max Payne is coming soon and we hope that this remake will be just as accepted by the general public.
