Still on Metacritic, we observe that the user rating is 2.3/10 from more than 9000 reviews. Even on Steam, the feeling is not better.

Available since October 17, four months after the release of the title, Diablo IV on Steam shows a mixed overall rating from 15,000 reviews since only 69% of them are positive. A complete overhaul of items in Diablo IV

If you haven't been following Diablo news closely, you may have missed some crucial information. Faced with player feedback, Blizzard has decided to completely overhaul its loot and item system. If this goes through tons of modifications, what is worth remembering is that Blizzard now wants to favor the quality over the quantity of objects recovered, all with the aim of allowing players to build builds more quickly. and more easily.

Very good news to avoid intensive and unguaranteed farming which frustrated many users when the title was released. Very proud of this change, Blizzard has decided to set up a test server for players to experience it for themselves, and thus collect feedback. All of this therefore serves as a test before integration into the final game which has not been officially announced in terms of date. However, one thing is certain, and that is that Blizzard does not intend to stop there in future improvements.

“We are very willing to review other parts of the game”

Following these tests on the test server, The media GamesRadar+ had the opportunity to interview Tim Ismay, the lead producer on Diablo VI. During this interview, the developer discussed the team's intentions regarding the future of the game, particularly regarding the overhauls of certain aspects of the experience:

We're definitely actively discussing, if not directly working on, additional systems that we want to add to the game in the future that we believe will make it an even more robust experience, much like what we have made for Season 4 with the overhaul of the item system. We are more than willing to review other parts of the game in the same way.

Thus, the developers of Diablo IV let it be known that they are listening to players and that'They are willing to consider complete overhauls of certain aspects of the game to improve the game. Enough to mark the start of a real “redemption” for the Blizzard title?
